# Get trace context

`GET /api/v1/data/conversations/{conversationId}/context`

## Request

Returns a window of messages centered on a message index within a trace.

## Path parameters

- `conversationId` string, required

## Query parameters

- `msg_index` integer
- `window` integer

## Response `200`

Successful response.

- object: The requested trace message window and available context metadata.

## Other responses

- `401`: The x-api-key header is missing, invalid, or revoked.
- `404`: The requested resource was not found.
