# Analyze team fault lines

`POST /teams/fault-lines`

## Request

Analyze alignment fault lines across a team of agents. Identifies capabilities, values, or constraints that some agents declare but others miss, creating potential alignment gaps. Returns a fleet-wide score with individual fault line details and resolution hints. **Authorization:** the caller must be a member (any role) of the org that owns the team. A team in another org returns `404`, identical to a nonexistent id.

  - `agent_ids` string[]: Optional subset of agent IDs to analyze. If omitted, all team members are analyzed.
  - `dimensions` string[]: Dimensions to analyze for fault lines

Fault line analysis result

- FaultLineAnalysis: Complete fault line analysis result for a team.
  - `team_id` string: Team that was analyzed
  - `analysis_id` string: Unique identifier for this analysis run
  - `fault_lines` FaultLine[]: Identified fault lines sorted by severity then impact_score desc
    - `id` string: Unique identifier for this fault line
    - `value` string: The specific value, capability, or constraint that constitutes the fault line
    - `classification` 'resolvable' | 'priority_mismatch' | 'incompatible' | 'complementary': Classification of the fault line's nature
    - `severity` 'low' | 'medium' | 'high' | 'critical': Severity of the fault line
    - `agents_declaring` string[]: Agent IDs that declare or satisfy this requirement
    - `agents_missing` string[]: Agent IDs that are missing this requirement
    - `agents_conflicting` string[]: Agent IDs whose declared conflicts_with includes this value
    - `impact_score` number: Estimated impact of this fault line on team alignment (0.0 to 1.0)
    - `resolution_hint` string: Suggested action to resolve this fault line
    - `affects_capabilities` string[]: Bounded actions/capabilities shared by all involved agents
  - `alignments` object[]: Detected alignment patterns — sets of agents consistently isolated across multiple fault lines.
  - `summary` FaultLineSummary: Aggregated fault-line counts by classification (AAP `FaultLineSummary`). All counts are non-negative integers; every field is present even when no fault lines were detected (all zero).
    - `total` integer: Total number of fault lines
    - `resolvable` integer: Count of resolvable fault lines
    - `priority_mismatch` integer: Count of priority_mismatch fault lines
    - `incompatible` integer: Count of incompatible fault lines
    - `complementary` integer: Count of complementary fault lines
    - `critical_count` integer: Count of critical-severity fault lines
  - `coherence` object: @mnemom/team-coherence v2 dimensional coherence vector (governance median, conflict edges, conscience/integrity invariants + narrative helpers). Replaces the deprecated scalar fleet_score.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request
- `401`: Authentication required
- `403`: Cross-origin write refused (`cross_origin_rejected`). A state-changing request that carries the browser session cookie must come from a first-party origin (`Origin`, or failing that `Referer`) and must not send a form-style body (text/plain, urlencoded, multipart) the operation does not declare. Bearer and API-key callers are never subject to this check.
- `404`: Resource not found
- `429`: Rate-limit exceeded. The global per-IP limiter (100 requests/minute, applied to every `/v1/*` route) rejected this request. Back off until the window resets — `Retry-After` carries the cooldown in seconds and `X-RateLimit-Reset` the absolute reset time.
- `500`: Server error — request was well-formed but the server failed to fulfill it. Typically a downstream dependency (DB / RPC / external API) returned an unexpected error.
