# Preview the composition this posture would produce for a team

`POST /postures/{posture_id}/preview-compose`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.mnemom.ai/v1`
- URL: `https://api.mnemom.ai/v1/postures/{posture_id}/preview-compose`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in header `X-Mnemom-Api-Key`

Composes alignment + protection cards using the posture body, the team's templates, and per-agent exemptions, without persisting. Useful for diff'ing before assigning. Authorization: the response embeds the posture's current revision body, so it is a read of the posture — a `posture_id` in an org the caller does not belong to returns the same 404 as a nonexistent posture, so the status never reveals that another tenant's posture exists, whatever `team_id` / `org_id` context is supplied. A `team_id` in an org the caller does not belong to likewise returns 404; the caller must be a member (any role) of the context team's org or of `org_id`, and an org-scoped posture only composes against a team or org that owns it (403 otherwise).

## Path parameters

- `posture_id` string, required

## Request body

- object
  - `team_id` string, uuid, required: UUID of the team to compose the preview for (uses the team's templates and per-agent exemptions).

## Response `200`

Composed preview.

- PostureComposePreview: Dry-run composition a posture would produce for a team (POST /v1/postures/{id}/preview-compose). Matches handlePreviewComposePosture exactly: the editor-shaped composed view plus the org floor (Platform ⊕ Org, no team layer). team_id/org_id are null for an org-scoped preview with no resolved team.
  - `posture_id` string, required
  - `team_id` string, nullable, required
  - `org_id` string, nullable, required
  - `composed` object, required: Composed posture with the path posture substituted as the team layer.
  - `floor` object, required: Org floor (Platform ⊕ Org-default, no team layer) for the editor's 3-column view.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request
- `401`: Authentication required
- `403`: Forbidden
- `404`: Resource not found
- `429`: Rate-limit exceeded. The global per-IP limiter (100 requests/minute, applied to every `/v1/*` route) rejected this request. Back off until the window resets — `Retry-After` carries the cooldown in seconds and `X-RateLimit-Reset` the absolute reset time.
- `500`: Server error — request was well-formed but the server failed to fulfill it. Typically a downstream dependency (DB / RPC / external API) returned an unexpected error.
