# Mint an ephemeral compute/operate key (gateway + api:read + api:write).

`POST /dojo/compute-keys`

## Request

Mints a Mnemom-provided, ephemeral API key carrying `gateway` + `api:read` + `api:write` (the standard-key default; no admin scopes), hung off the dedicated `dojo-system` billing account (not tied to ownership). `gateway` lets the runner act AS the agent through the prod gateway; `api:read`/`api:write` let the agent authenticate to mnemom-api MCP routes during onboarding (BE BORN / DECLARE) — a `gateway`-only key would 401 on every MCP call. The cleartext key is returned ONCE. Optionally bound to a TryMeConfig (sets its `compute_key_ref`). Admin-only — backs the `/admin/dojo` control surface. MNE-517 §2 / MNE-519.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request
- `401`: Authentication required
- `403`: Forbidden
- `429`: Rate-limit exceeded. The global per-IP limiter (100 requests/minute, applied to every `/v1/*` route) rejected this request. Back off until the window resets — `Retry-After` carries the cooldown in seconds and `X-RateLimit-Reset` the absolute reset time.
- `500`: Server error — request was well-formed but the server failed to fulfill it. Typically a downstream dependency (DB / RPC / external API) returned an unexpected error.
