# Delete a chat completion and its conversation

`DELETE /v1/chat/completions/{completion_id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.mixedbread.com`
- URL: `https://api.mixedbread.com/v1/chat/completions/{completion_id}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Delete a stored chat completion together with its entire conversation.

Every completion connected through previous_completion_id (earlier and
later turns, including branches) is deleted; a conversation is removed as
a unit.

## Path parameters

- `completion_id` string, required: ID of the chat completion

## Response `200`

Deletion confirmation

- ChatCompletionDeleted
  - `id` string, required
  - `object` 'chat.completion.deleted'
  - `deleted` boolean
