# Retest Finding

`POST /v1/findings/{finding_id}/retest`

## Request

Starts a retest that checks whether a finding still reproduces against the live target, optionally using a specific target credential.

## Path parameters

- `finding_id` string, uuid, required

## Request body

- PublicRetestFindingRequest
  - `target_credential_id` string, uuid, nullable

## Response `200`

Successful response

- PublicRetestResult
  - `run_id` string, uuid, required
  - `retest_status` 'QUEUED' | 'FAILED', required
  - `retest_failure_reason` string, nullable
  - `retest_failure_code` string, nullable

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid request
- `401`: Missing or invalid API key
- `403`: Not permitted for this organization
- `404`: Resource not found
- `409`: A retest is already active or credential recovery is unavailable for this finding
- `429`: Organization retest capacity reached
- `503`: Retest service unavailable
