# Get the changes of an audited operation

`GET /rest/api/v1/projects/{projectId}/auditLogs/{auditLogId}/changes`

Returns the fields that this operation changed on the addressed resource. The delta is derived from the audit log itself by comparing the stored representation with the one of the previous call to the same endpoint.

  - `action` string — Trailing path segments for action endpoints
  - `ancestors` AuditLogResourceRefDTO[] — Parent resources of the addressed resource
    - `id` string — Id of the resource
    - `type` string — Type of the resource
  - `auditLogId` string — Id of the audit log entry the delta was computed for
  - `changeCount` integer — Number of changed fields
  - `changes` AuditLogChangeDTO[] — Changed fields
    - `after` string — Value after the change, serialized as text, null when the field was removed
    - `before` string — Value before the change, serialized as text, null when the field did not exist
    - `field` string — Name of the changed field without its parent path
    - `kind` 'ADDED' | 'REMOVED' | 'MODIFIED' — Kind of change
    - `path` string — Dotted path of the field inside the resource
    - `valueType` 'STRING' | 'NUMBER' | 'BOOLEAN' | 'OBJECT' | 'ARRAY' | 'NULL' — Type of the changed value
  - `comparedToAuditLogId` string — Id of the audit log entry the delta was computed against
  - `comparedToTimestamp` string, date-time — Timestamp of the audit log entry the delta was computed against
  - `diffAvailable` boolean — True when a field level delta could be computed
  - `diffUnavailableReason` 'NO_PREDECESSOR' | 'NO_PAYLOAD' | 'PAYLOAD_TRUNCATED' | 'PAYLOAD_NOT_JSON' | 'OPERATION_FAILED' — Why no delta is available
  - `initialState` boolean — True when this entry is the oldest known state of the resource
  - `operation` 'CREATE' | 'UPDATE' | 'DELETE' | 'ACTION' — Kind of operation
  - `resourceId` string — Id of the addressed resource, null for collection endpoints without a created id
  - `resourceKey` string — URI prefix that collects the whole history of this resource
  - `resourceType` string — Type of the addressed resource
