# Create multiple Journal Entries

`POST /journal-entries/{booksId}`

## Path parameters

- `booksId` string, uuid, required

## Query parameters

- `expand` 'line_entries' | 'line_entries.transaction' | 'line_entries.ledger' | 'line_entries.opposing_ledger_ids' | 'line_entries.payment_applications': Comma-separated list of expandable paths.
- `modified_by` string, uuid: An optional identifier for audit logging.

## Request body

- TealCreateJournalEntryParams[]
  - `datetime` string, yyyy-mm-ddThh:MM:ssZ, required
  - `description` string, required: An arbitrary string on the object, useful for displaying to the user.
  - `line_entries` TealCreateJournalEntryLineEntry[], required: The Line Entry objects to be associated with the Journal Entry. Must include at least two Line Entries, one debit and one credit, and the sum of the `amount`s of all debit entries must equal the sum of the `amount`s of the credit entries.
    - `amount` number, double, required: A dollar amount
    - `debit_credit` 'debit' | 'credit', required: Indicates if the amount is a credit or debit.
    - `description` string, required: An arbitrary string on the object, useful for displaying to the user or for categorization.
    - `ledger_id` string, base58 (max length 22), required: The ID of the Line Entry's Ledger.
    - `tag_ids` string[], nullable: A list of IDs of the Tag objects associated with the Line Entry.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid `body` or `modified_by` or `expand`
- `404`: `booksId` not found
