# Duplicate a template

`POST /templates/{id}/duplicate`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.mepmail.dev`
- URL: `https://api.mepmail.dev/templates/{id}/duplicate`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Copies a template under a new id.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required: Template id or alias

## Response `200`

Copy named "<name> (copy)" with no alias; returns the new template id

  - `object` 'template', required
  - `id` string, uuid, required

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing, malformed or invalid API key
- `404`: Not found
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded: 600 requests per minute per API key and 3,000 per team; wait for Retry-After
