# Send Test Webhook Event

`POST /webhooks/subscriptions/{subscription_id}/test`

Sends a test event to a webhook subscription and queues it for delivery so you can verify your endpoint and signature handling.

## Path parameters

- `subscription_id` string, uuid, required: The webhook subscription.

## Headers

- `Idempotency-Key` string, required: A unique key you generate (1-50 printable ASCII characters, no spaces) so retrying this request never creates a duplicate. Reusing a key is rejected.
- `x-entity-id` string, uuid

## Response `200`

Successful Response

- WebhookTestEventResponse
  - `event_id` string, uuid, required: The `webhook.test` event that was created.
  - `delivery_id` string, uuid, nullable, required: Delivery created for the event, to inspect with Get Delivery. `null` if no delivery was created, in which case `queued` is `false`.
  - `queued` boolean, required: Whether the test event was queued for delivery. The test event bypasses the subscription's event-type filter, so it is sent even if the subscription does not select `webhook.test`.

## Other responses

- `400`: The request could not be processed.
- `401`: Authentication failed.
- `403`: The API key is not authorized for this operation, or the user of a global API key is an admin or controller without approved KYC. The KYC case returns the message `KYC is required for controllers and admins.` until that user completes KYC in the Meow dashboard.
- `429`: Too many requests.
