# Search Tax Forms

`GET /tax-forms`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.meow.com/v1`
- URL: `https://api.meow.com/v1/tax-forms`
- Auth: API key in header `x-api-key`
- TypeScript: <https://skmtc.dev/meow/apis/meow-api/docs/tax-forms/get.ts> (a function with typed inputs; its response is checked against the schema)

Returns IRS tax forms (the 1099 family) issued for the specified account. Currently supports `Tax1099Int` for bank accounts; brokerage and wallet accounts return an empty list until additional form types are exposed.

## Query parameters

- `account_id` string, nullable: The account ID to list tax forms for.
- `tax_year` integer, nullable: Optional filter to a specific tax year.
- `tax_forms` TaxFormType[], nullable: Filter to one or more form types, as a list, e.g. `["Tax1099Int", "Tax1099Div"]`. Omit to return every form type.

## Response `200`

Successful Response

- TaxFormList
  - `tax_forms` TaxFormDescriptor[], required: Tax forms issued for this account. Empty if none have been issued, or none match your year and form-type filters.
    - `tax_form_id` string, required: Identifier for this tax form. Pass it to the retrieve endpoint to get a download URL.
    - `tax_year` integer, required: The tax year the form covers.
    - `tax_form_type` 'Tax1099Int' | 'Tax1099Div' | 'Tax1099B' | 'Tax1099', required

## Other responses

- `400`: The request could not be processed.
- `401`: Authentication failed.
- `403`: The API key is not authorized for this operation, or the user of a global API key is an admin or controller without approved KYC. The KYC case returns the message `KYC is required for controllers and admins.` until that user completes KYC in the Meow dashboard.
- `429`: Too many requests.
