# Create Receipts

`POST /receipts`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.meow.com/v1`
- URL: `https://api.meow.com/v1/receipts`
- Auth: API key in header `x-api-key`
- TypeScript: <https://skmtc.dev/meow/apis/meow-api/docs/receipts/post.ts> (a function with typed inputs; its response is checked against the schema)

Starts matching uploaded receipts to card transactions. Use the returned receipt IDs to track the matching results.

## Request body

- CreateReceiptsRequest
  - `receipts` ReceiptConfirmation[], required: Receipts that finished uploading and should be matched.
    - `object_key` string, required: Opaque upload key returned with the upload URL.
    - `filename` string, required: Name of the uploaded receipt file.

## Response `202`

Successful Response

- ReceiptsResponse
  - `data` ReceiptResponse[], required: Receipts available to your API key.
    - `id` string, uuid, required: Identifier used to retrieve this receipt.
    - `filename` string, required: Name of the receipt file.
    - `match_status` 'processing' | 'matched' | 'failed' | 'dismissed', required
    - `match_failure_reason` 'no_matching_transactions' | 'vendor_name_mismatch' | 'transaction_already_has_receipt' | 'document_not_receipt' | 'unreadable' | 'unsupported_currency', required
    - `matched_transaction_id` string, uuid, nullable, required: The matched card transaction's identifier, or null until matched.

## Other responses

- `400`: The request could not be processed.
- `401`: Authentication failed.
- `403`: The API key is not authorized for this operation, or the user of a global API key is an admin or controller without approved KYC. The KYC case returns the message `KYC is required for controllers and admins.` until that user completes KYC in the Meow dashboard.
- `429`: Too many requests.
