# List Merchants

`GET /cards/merchants`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.meow.com/v1`
- URL: `https://api.meow.com/v1/cards/merchants`
- Auth: API key in header `x-api-key`

Returns merchants that can be used in a card's `spending_restriction`. Filter by name with `query`. Pass the returned `id` values to Create Card or Update Card.

## Query parameters

- `query` string, nullable: Filter to merchants whose name starts with this text.
- `limit` integer: Maximum number of results to return.
- `offset` string, nullable: Opaque offset identifier for pagination. Use the nextOffset from a previous response.

## Response `200`

Successful Response

- MerchantsResponse
  - `data` MerchantResponse[], required: Merchants you can reference in a card's spending restriction.
    - `id` string, uuid, required: Pass this in `spending_restriction.merchants` to allow or block the card at this merchant.
    - `name` string, required: The merchant's display name.
    - `logo_url` string, required: URL of the merchant's logo.
    - `website` string, nullable: The merchant's website, when known.
  - `page` PageMetadata
    - `nextOffset` string, nullable: Opaque offset identifier.

## Other responses

- `400`: The request could not be processed.
- `401`: Authentication failed.
- `403`: The API key is not authorized for this operation, or the user of a global API key is an admin or controller without approved KYC. The KYC case returns the message `KYC is required for controllers and admins.` until that user completes KYC in the Meow dashboard.
- `429`: Too many requests.
