# Get historical exchange rate

`GET /v2/exchange-rates/historical`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.mentium.io` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://api.mentium.io/v2/exchange-rates/historical`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Look up the exchange rate that was used on a specific date.

## Query parameters

- `from_currency` string, required: Source currency code (e.g., 'CAD')
- `to_currency` string, required: Target currency code (e.g., 'USD')
- `rate_date` string, date, required: Date to look up the rate for (YYYY-MM-DD)

## Headers

- `mentium-workspace-id` string, nullable

## Response `200`

Successful Response

- HistoricalRateResponse: Response schema for historical exchange rate queries.
  - `from_currency` string, required: Source currency code
  - `to_currency` string, required: Target currency code
  - `rate` number, nullable: Exchange rate, null if not found
  - `rate_date` string, date, required: Requested date
  - `source` string, nullable: Source of the rate
  - `found` boolean, required: Whether a rate was found for this date
