# Get current exchange rate

`GET /v2/exchange-rates/current`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.mentium.io` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://api.mentium.io/v2/exchange-rates/current`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Fetch the current exchange rate between two currencies. Uses cached rates when available.

## Query parameters

- `from_currency` string, required: Source currency code (e.g., 'CAD')
- `to_currency` string, required: Target currency code (e.g., 'USD')

## Headers

- `mentium-workspace-id` string, nullable

## Response `200`

Successful Response

- ExchangeRateResponse: Response schema for exchange rate queries.
  - `from_currency` string, required: Source currency code (e.g., 'CAD')
  - `to_currency` string, required: Target currency code (e.g., 'USD')
  - `rate` number, required: Exchange rate (1 from_currency = rate to_currency)
  - `rate_date` string, date, required: Date the rate is valid for
  - `source` string, required: Source of the rate (e.g., 'open_exchange_rates', 'cache')
