## Request

- URL: `https://marketplace-api.mendix.com/v1/releases/{releaseId}`
- Auth: API key in header `Authorization`

Unpublishes a release from Marketplace. This allows component developers to remove releases when needed, either for corrections or for component retirement.

**Supported States:** It is supported for releases in any state (`Draft`, `InReview`, `Declined`, `Published`).

**Authorization:** The user must have access to manage the component. The user is a developer of the component and meets user group rules.

**Special Cases:**
- If the client attempts to unpublish the only remaining release of a non-deprecated component, a `409 Conflict` response is returned. The component must first be deprecated before deleting its last remaining release.
- If the last remaining release of a deprecated component is unpublished, the whole component is automatically unpublished and removed from Marketplace.
