# Update package (marketplace content item)

`PUT /packages/{packageId}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://pmp-demo.privateplatform.mendix.com/marketplaceservice/v1`
- URL: `https://pmp-demo.privateplatform.mendix.com/marketplaceservice/v1/packages/{packageId}`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP basic
  - API key in header `Authorization`

### Use the PUT method to edit a newly posted package (content item).

Note the following:
- This operation applies only to newly created content items that have not been published yet.
- This operation cannot be used to edit new versions of already existing packages (content items).
- Only the creator of a package is able to edit it and thus use this operation.

  - `name` string, required: Package name.
  - `description` string, required: Package description.
  - `studioProVersion` string, required: Studio pro version that package support.
  - `appContentTypeName` string, required: Package content type name.
  - `ownerGroupName` string: Package owner group name.
  - `license` string, required: License name for package.
  - `logoFile` string, required: Base64EncodedContent string of package version logo file.
  - `visibility` string: Package is visible to all or only specific groups.
  - `versionMajor` integer: Package first version major number.
  - `versionMinor` integer: Package first version minor number.
  - `versionPatch` integer: Package first version patch number.
  - `releaseNotes` string, required: Package release note text.
  - `documentation` string: Package documentation text.
  - `screenshotInputs` object[]: Package screenshot file.
    - `base64EncodedContent` string: Base64EncodedContent string of package screenshot file.
    - `fileName` string: Package screenshot file name.
  - `sourceFileInput` object, required: Package source mpk file.
    - `base64EncodedContent` string, required: Base64EncodedContent string of package source mpk file.
    - `fileName` string, required: Package source mpk file name.
  - `appCategories` object[]: Package App Category.
    - `name` string: Package App Category name.
