# Get an app

`GET /apps/{appId}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://cloud.home.mendix.com/api/v4`
- URL: `https://cloud.home.mendix.com/api/v4/apps/{appId}`
- Auth: API key in header `Authorization`

Get information about a single app. This API call does not return the same results as you can see within the Mendix Portal. It includes all licensed and free apps on the Mendix Cloud. Free apps include all apps which have been created or edited in Studio Pro, even if they have then been deployed to a different cloud such as Mendix for Private Cloud.

## Response `200`

OK

- App: An app is identified by a unique App ID. This can be seen on the **General** page of the app in the Mendix Portal. Additional information is added to manage the deployment of the app to the Mendix Cloud.
  - `id` string, uuid, required: The unique App ID of the app. This can be seen on the **General** page of the app in the Mendix Portal. It is a UUID format.
  - `name` string, required: The name of the app.
  - `licenseType` 'free' | 'licensed', required: The type of license. Free apps are created directly from Studio (Pro).
  - `subdomain` string, required: The environment URLs are based on this value. It is set when the app is created and cannot be changed. The value is unique in the Mendix Cloud.
  - `technicalContact` Membership, required: A Mendix user who is a team member of an app.
    - `userId` string, required: The ID of the user.
    - `name` string, required: The full name of the user.
    - `status` 'active' | 'inactive', required: The user's status in this membership. A user can have an active status in the Mendix platform but has an inactive status for an app.
  - `region` string, required: The region or cluster where the app's environments are running.

## Other responses

- `401`: There were no usable authentication credentials found. The error response gives additional feedback.
- `403`: Access is denied. The provided credentials are incorrect or the credentials do not have the required level of access. The error response gives additional feedback.
- `404`: The requested item could not be found. The error response gives additional feedback.
- `500`: Internal system error.
