# Mark a conversation as read up to a message

`POST /api/v1/conversations/{id}/read`

The backup way out of "unread": the reader reached the end of the history. The main one needs no call at all, because the server marks it when Alma summarises what is new. Send the id of the last message the client actually rendered; without it the mark moves to the contact's latest message.

The mark, after moving it (it only ever moves forward)
