# Put a detected pattern away

`POST /api/v1/contacts/{id}/patterns/{patternId}/dismiss`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://memchats.com`
- URL: `https://memchats.com/api/v1/contacts/{id}/patterns/{patternId}/dismiss`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Detection runs on its own after every ingest, so this is how a false positive stops being shown. `reason` is optional and stored when given. The contact in the path is checked as well as the owner: a pattern id alone does not say which conversation it belongs to.

## Path parameters

- `id` integer, required
- `patternId` integer, required

## Request body

- object
  - `reason` string

## Response `200`

The pattern, now dismissed

## Other responses

- `400`: Malformed ids, body, or a reason over 500 characters
- `404`: No such pattern on this contact
