# Read the whole history again, from the beginning

`POST /api/v1/contacts/{id}/memory/regenerate`

## Request

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Replaces the contact's memory sheet with one distilled from every message, ignoring the watermark and any plan window. Takes minutes; the messages themselves are untouched. Plus and above: on Free the sweep would be bounded to the same 2,000 most recent messages the sheet already has.

## Response `200`

The resweep is queued

## Other responses

- `402`: Plus or above required (code: plan_required)
- `404`: Contact not found
- `429`: A sweep is already running for this contact (code: sweep_running)
- `503`: The memory queue is not available
