# A member entered a recovery sequence.

`POST sequence.enrolled` (webhook)

### When this fires

The sequence's trigger fired for a member of the project and nothing stood in the way. For `churned` that is `member.churned`: the member's last live membership ended, through its end date, a cancellation that ran out or the close of a failed-payment grace window. For `lead` it is `member.lead_created`; for `stalled_checkout` the hourly sweep's `checkout.stalled`; for `trial_ending` the hourly trial sweep, once a trial without a card is within the project's lead time of its end. The member is enrolled into every running sequence on that trigger, once each, provided the sequence has at least one step, the member holds nothing the trigger counts as a conversion (any live membership, or for `trial_ending` a paid one), they have not asked the project's sequences to stop, they are not already part-way through that sequence, and the project owner's plan includes sequences. `next_due_at` is the moment of the trigger plus the first step's delay; the step goes out on the first hourly sweep after it.

### Caveats

- A member who buys again before the first step is due never receives it: the sweep finds them holding a live membership and ends the passage as `sequence.converted` instead.
- A sequence switched off between the trigger and the first step lets the member go as `sequence.exited` with the reason `disabled`.

### Related events

- `member.churned`: the churn trigger.
- `sequence.step_sent`: the steps that follow.
- `sequence.converted`: how a passage ends well.
- `sequence.exited`: how a passage ends otherwise.

## Headers

- `SB-Signature` string, required
- `SB-Event-Id` string, required
- `SB-Event-Name` string, required
- `Content-Type` string, required
- `User-Agent` string, required

## Payload

- object: The envelope every event is delivered in.
  - `id` string, required: A ULID unique to the event, prefixed `evt_`. Every retry carries the same id, so it is the key to deduplicate on.
  - `type` 'sequence.enrolled', required: The event name, always `sequence.enrolled` here.
  - `created_at` string, date-time, required: When the event was emitted, server time, ISO 8601.
  - `api_version` string, required: The contract version of the payload shape, `2026-05-01` today. A breaking change to a shape ships under a new version.
  - `project_id` string, uuid, nullable, required: The project the event belongs to; null for team-scoped and billing events.
  - `data` object, required: The event-specific payload. Keys that do not apply to a given emission are omitted rather than sent as null, so check for presence.
    - `enrollment_id` string, uuid, required: The passage's identifier, carried by every later event of this member in this sequence.
    - `sequence_id` string, uuid, required: The sequence entered.
    - `subscriber_id` string, uuid, required: The member's project-scoped user id.
    - `subscription_id` string, uuid, nullable, required: The membership whose end fired the trigger, or `null` when the trigger named none.
    - `plan_id` string, uuid, nullable, required: The plan the passage is about and every step's button opens: the stalled checkout's, the trial's or the churned membership's; `null` when the trigger carried none.
    - `trigger` 'churned' | 'lead' | 'stalled_checkout' | 'trial_ending', required: What fired.
    - `next_due_at` string, date-time, required: When the first step falls due. The hourly sweep sends it on its first run after this moment.

## Acknowledgement `2XX`

Your endpoint acknowledged the delivery. Any 2xx status within 30 seconds marks it delivered; the response body is ignored.

## Other responses

- `default`: Any other status, a connection failure, or no answer within 30 seconds counts as a failed attempt. The delivery is retried 8 times, after 10 seconds, 30 seconds, 2 minutes, 10 minutes, 1 hour, 6 hours, 1 day, 3 days; the last failure dead-letters it, and it can be retried from the dashboard or `POST /v1/webhook-deliveries/{delivery}/retry`. After 20 consecutive failures the endpoint is paused until it is resumed.
