# A failed renewal was settled, and the grace clock on the subscription closed.

`POST subscription.payment_recovered` (webhook)

### When this fires

A renewal that had failed is paid: the rail's next charge settles, or the rail reports the subscription active again before the money reaches the ledger. Either closes the clock Revenue Recovery opened at the failure, converts every notice sent during the window and stamps `recovered_at`. When the window had already closed and access had been paused, the member's invite links are reissued and they are welcomed back, which `subscription.access_restored` reports separately.

Only a renewal of a membership that has paid before opens a clock, so this never fires for a first purchase or for a one-time rail. A charge that settles on a subscription with no open clock fires `subscription.renewed` alone.

### Related events

- `subscription.access_suspended`: the pause this may be undoing.
- `subscription.access_restored`: the reissued links, when `access_restored` is `true`.
- `payment.succeeded`: the charge behind it.

## Headers

- `SB-Signature` string, required
- `SB-Event-Id` string, required
- `SB-Event-Name` string, required
- `Content-Type` string, required
- `User-Agent` string, required

## Payload

- object: The envelope every event is delivered in.
  - `id` string, required: A ULID unique to the event, prefixed `evt_`. Every retry carries the same id, so it is the key to deduplicate on.
  - `type` 'subscription.payment_recovered', required: The event name, always `subscription.payment_recovered` here.
  - `created_at` string, date-time, required: When the event was emitted, server time, ISO 8601.
  - `api_version` string, required: The contract version of the payload shape, `2026-05-01` today. A breaking change to a shape ships under a new version.
  - `project_id` string, uuid, nullable, required: The project the event belongs to; null for team-scoped and billing events.
  - `data` object, required: The event-specific payload. Keys that do not apply to a given emission are omitted rather than sent as null, so check for presence.
    - `subscription_id` string, uuid, required: Subscription identifier.
    - `subscriber_id` string, uuid, required: Subscriber's project-scoped user id.
    - `plan_id` string, uuid, required: The plan the subscription is on.
    - `provider` 'stripe' | 'paypal' | 'skrill' | 'coinpayments' | 'paystack' | 'razorpay' | 'ceypay' | 'null', nullable, required: The rail the renewal settled on; `null` when the subscription's payment method is gone.
    - `payment_id` string, uuid, nullable, required: The settled payment that closed the clock, or `null` when the rail's status closed it before the money landed; the payment is attached when it does.
    - `access_restored` boolean, required: `true` when the window had closed and access had been paused, so the member's links were reissued.
    - `recovered_at` string, date-time, required: When the clock closed.

## Acknowledgement `2XX`

Your endpoint acknowledged the delivery. Any 2xx status within 30 seconds marks it delivered; the response body is ignored.

## Other responses

- `default`: Any other status, a connection failure, or no answer within 30 seconds counts as a failed attempt. The delivery is retried 8 times, after 10 seconds, 30 seconds, 2 minutes, 10 minutes, 1 hour, 6 hours, 1 day, 3 days; the last failure dead-letters it, and it can be retried from the dashboard or `POST /v1/webhook-deliveries/{delivery}/retry`. After 20 consecutive failures the endpoint is paused until it is resumed.
