# Watch a company

`POST /api/v1/watch`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://meetkatalis.com`
- URL: `https://meetkatalis.com/api/v1/watch`
- Auth: API key in header `x-api-key`

Reads the company today and records its state; from tomorrow's daily read on, every change is an event. 2 credits now (this month), then 2 per calendar month on the first read of the month. A key out of credits has its watches paused, with an event saying so, until credits are there. Each plan watches up to a limit (free 10; paid a quarter of the monthly credits).

## Response `200`

company, name, watching, label, state, creditsCharged

## Other responses

- `400`: Not a company number
- `402`: The plan's watch limit is reached (code watch_limit)
- `404`: No company with that number
- `503`: Companies House couldn't be read; nothing charged
