# Invite a new org member

`POST /v1/organizations/{orgId}/members`

## Request

Add a new organization member with the given role to the organization. Adding users is achieved through sending email invites.

You need to be an owner of an Enterprise grade account with empty seats. Alternatively, existing org members with the "manager" role
can also invite others, though invites issued by those actors can only grant the "member" role.

## Path parameters

- `orgId` string, required: A common ID format for various objects like polls or Q&A topics or items therein.

## Request body

- OrgMemberNew: An entry for a new organization member, denoting a pending invite.
  - `role` 'manager' | 'member': Organization role for the new member
  - `name` string: Optional name of the invitee
  - `email` string: Email used for sending an invite, or an existing member's actual email
  - `meetingId` string: Meeting context for the org role grant. Optional and normally used with guest admin invites.

    - `createdOn` integer: Creation timestamp, in milliseconds.
    - `inviterId` string: ID of whoever issued the invite.
    - `name` string: Invitee's name, usually left empty.
    - `email` string: Email for notifying the invitee.
    - `role` string: Organization role for the invitee.

## Other responses

- `401`: Access token is missing or invalid
- `403`: Requestor is not part of an organization, lacking in-org roles, or no empty org seats remain
- `422`: Provided poll object was malformed in some way, and creation failed
