# Reset a meeting

`POST /v1/meetings/{meetingId}/reset`

> **Deprecated.**

Create an archive snapshot of a meeting and revert it to a non-started state.

Depending on options provided the meeting might have all participant activity removed or retain some of it.

Useful in scenarios with a recurring identical event.
A meeting that has been reset will need to be marked as started if attendees are to be allowed in.

Deprecation warning: please use the meeting creation endpoint in "copy" mode instead.

A **meeting role** of *owner* is required for the meeting in question.

## Path parameters

- `meetingId` string, required: A canonical meeting ID string that's generated automatically for new meetings. Normally consists of just alphanumericals; legacy meetings can have dashes and underscores.

## Request body

- MeetingCloneOpts: Meeting duplication / reset options
  - `caption` string: Friendly meeting descriptor.
  - `clone` boolean: Do a full deep cloning of the source meeting bypassing any selective settings.
  - `persistAttendees` boolean: Carry over old attendee names, if any.
  - `persistPollResponses` boolean: Carry over existing votes for polls.
  - `persistIdeas` boolean: Carry over Q&A contributions and comments.
  - `questions` object
    - `persist` boolean: Carry over old submitted questions. Legacy.
    - `persistAnswered` boolean: When carrying over old questions, include answered/rejected items. Legacy.

## Response `204`

Meeting has been reset successfully

## Other responses

- `403`: Reset denied due to a non-closed meeting
