# Delete an orphan business event (zero GL impact)

`DELETE /companies/{companyId}/business-events/{eventId}`

## Request

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Orphan cleanup only (#1705/#1815) — removes an event whose journal entry generation was skipped or failed, so it carries zero GL impact. An event linked to a posted journal entry, or one driving a derived posting schedule (whose entries post to the GL), returns 409; void the journal entry first.
