# Read companies month end close

`GET /accountant/companies/{customerId}/month-end-close`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.medianfi.com/api/v1`
- URL: `https://api.medianfi.com/api/v1/accountant/companies/{customerId}/month-end-close`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`

The customer's month-end checklist for its close target: the oldest open GL period that has ended, the same period readiness, the closing-entry preview and lock use. Steps are created for that period. With no ended open period the response is `status: nothing_to_close` with null `period`, `periodKey` and `deadline` and no sections; the calendar month is never substituted.

    - `period` string, nullable: Label of the close target, e.g. "August 2026". Null when there is nothing to close.
    - `periodKey` string, nullable: YYYY-MM of the close target. Null exactly when `period` is.
    - `status` 'completed' | 'in_progress' | 'not_started' | 'nothing_to_close': `nothing_to_close` when no open GL period has ended. The calendar month is never substituted.
    - `deadline` string, date, nullable: The 10th of the month after the close target. Null when there is nothing to close.
    - `overallProgress` integer
    - `startedAt` string, nullable
    - `sections` object[]: The close target's checklist steps. Empty when there is nothing to close.
      - `id` string
      - `title` string
      - `status` string
      - `progress` integer
    - `preChecks` object: Omitted when there is nothing to close.

## Other responses

- `401`: Authentication required
- `403`: Insufficient permissions or not a company member
- `404`: Resource not found
