# Get all profile information for a user.

`GET /_matrix/client/v3/profile/{userId}`

Get the complete profile for a user.

## Path parameters

- `userId` string, mx-user-id, required

## Response `200`

The profile information for this user.

- object
  - `avatar_url` string, mx-mxc-uri: The user's avatar URL if they have set one, otherwise not present.
  - `displayname` string: The user's display name if they have set one, otherwise not present.
  - `m.tz` string: The user's time zone.

## Other responses

- `403`: The server is unwilling to disclose whether the user exists and/or has profile information.
- `404`: There is no profile information for this user or this user does not exist.
