# Remove a profile field from a user.

`DELETE /_matrix/client/v3/profile/{userId}/{keyName}`

Remove a specific field from a user's profile.

## Path parameters

- `userId` string, mx-user-id, required
- `keyName` string, required

## Response `200`

The profile field was deleted or it doesn't exist.

- `400`: The request is malformed, contains invalid JSON, or specifies an invalid key.
- `403`: The user is not authorised to delete this profile field.
- `429`: This request was rate-limited.
