# Get matched merchants for a given merchant descriptor

`GET /merchants`

## Request

Returns merchant details for matched merchants given a merchant descriptor as input. (IMPORTANT - Please remove all spaces from the merchant descriptor before submitting your API request)

- MerchantList: List of merchants
  - `merchants` Merchant[]: merchants
    - `address` Address: Available information for this Address such as the street, city, country, country subdivision an postal code.
      - `city` string: Name of the city or town where the merchant is located
      - `country` Country: Available information the Country such as the name and code
        - `code` string: Three digit alpha country code as defined in ISO 3166-1
        - `name` string: Name of the country
      - `countrySubdivision` CountrySubDivision: Available information the Country Subdivision such as the name and code
        - `code` string: Abbreviated code for the state or province
        - `name` string: Name of the state or province
      - `line1` string: Line 1 of the street address of the merchant. Usually includes the street number and name
      - `line2` string: Line 2 of the street address, usually an apartment number or suite number
      - `postalCode` string: The zip code or postal code for a merchant
    - `brandName` string: The brand name of the merchant
    - `merchantDescriptor` string: Descriptor for the merchant provided by the Merchant Service Provider(MSP)
    - `legalCorporateName` string: Corporate legal name of the merchant
    - `locationId` integer: Merchant specific location identifier
    - `matchConfidenceScore` integer: Confidence score (%) to help clients understand the quality of the search results
    - `merchantCategory` string: Merchant category code and description associated with the merchant category code for the merchant
    - `merchantDbaName` string: The business name of the merchant
    - `phoneNumber` string: The phone number of the merchant
    - `isBrickAndMortar` boolean: Indicates whether the input descriptor is used by the merchant for brick-and-mortar (card-present) transactions
    - `isEcommerce` boolean: Indicates whether the input descriptor is used by the merchant for e-commerce (card-not-present) transactions

## Other responses

- `400`: Something was wrong with the request.
- `401`: Authentication information was missing or invalid.
- `403`: Insufficient permissions for interacting with the resource.
