# Import a filing

`POST /filings/import_from_office`

## Request

Canonical entry point for creating a filing. The backend fetches the filing from the named office, deduplicates against existing records, creates the trademark on the fly if needed, links Nice classes, and mirrors the office-observed phase into the local row. Provide either `trademark_id` (import into an existing trademark) or `name` + `client_id` (create the trademark and import in one go).

Filing imported (JSON:API-shape)

## Other responses

- `400`: Malformed request
- `401`: API key missing, invalid, expired, or revoked
- `404`: Resource not found, or not visible to this actor
- `422`: Validation error — field-level detail in the response body
