# Update a filing

`PATCH /filings/{id}`

## Request

Update the customer-managed fields on a filing — `internal_reference` (your own case tracking ID) and `notes` (free-form). Office-sourced fields like status, dates, and mark text are read-only via this endpoint; use `/refresh_from_office` to re-sync those from the source.
