# Save a basemap profile

`POST /styles/profiles`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.mapsource.io`
- URL: `https://api.mapsource.io/styles/profiles`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Saves a semantic manifest as a named profile associated with the authenticated key.

When to use: Store a style for subsequent retrieval, editing, and rendering.

## Request body

- object
  - `name` string, required: Human name.
  - `slug` string: Stable URL id. Defaults to a slug of the name.
  - `description` string: Profile description.
  - `manifest` object: The manifest to save.
  - `base` string: Preset to patch instead.
  - `patch` object: Semantic overrides.

## Response `200`

- `400`: Error with a stable machine code.
