# Request a sign-in link by email. Uniform 202 regardless of whether the address has an account.

`POST /v1/console/signin`

## Request

## Request body

- SigninRequest: Body for `POST /v1/console/signin`.
  - `email` string, required: Email address to send the sign-in link to.

## Response `202`

Uniform acknowledgement; a link was sent only if the address has an account and budgets allow

- SigninResponse: Uniform response for sign-in link requests.
  - `status` string, required: Always `"sent-if-exists"`, the response is identical whether or not the address has an account, so it cannot be used to probe which emails are MapMap customers.

## Other responses

- `400`: Syntactically invalid email
- `429`: Per-IP request velocity exceeded
- `501`: Console not configured (SN_CONSOLE_URL unset)
