# Create a new resource

`POST /restapi/json/v1/resources`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://Hostname:Port`

- Auth: API key in header `AUTHTOKEN`

This operation is used to create a new resource in Manage Engine PAM360

        - `RESOURCENAME` string, required: Name of the resource to be created
        - `ACCOUNTNAME` string, required: Name of the user account for the resource
        - `RESOURCETYPE` string: Type of the resource (e.g., Windows, Linux)
        - `PASSWORD` string: Password for the user account
        - `NOTES` string: Notes or description for the resource
        - `RESOURCEURL` string, uri: URL or console path of the resource
        - `LOCATION` string: Physical or logical location of the resource
        - `DNSNAME` string: DNS name or IP address of the resource
        - `DEPARTMENT` string: Department responsible for the resource
        - `RESOURCEDESCRIPTION` string: Description of the resource
        - `DOMAINNAME` string: Domain name of the resource
        - `RESOURCEGROUPNAME` string: Name of the resource group the resource will be added to
        - `ENABLEPRIVATEKEY` boolean: Whether private key is enabled for this resource
        - `RESOURCEPASSWORDPOLICY` string: Password policy to be applied to the resource
        - `ACCOUNTPASSWORDPOLICY` string: Password policy to be applied to the account
        - `OWNERNAME` string: User responsible for the resource
        - `RECORD_CONFIGURED_RESOURCE_URL` boolean: Initiates recording when the configured resource URL is launched (v7500+)
        - `DISABLE_TAB_DUPLICATION` boolean: Prevents opening multiple browser tabs for the same resource (v7500+)
        - `WEBSITE_SESSION_RECORDING` boolean: Captures web interaction sessions (v7500+)
        - `GATEWAY_SESSION_RECORDING` boolean: Records gateway connection activity (v7500+)
        - `SAP_USER_TYPE` 'A' | 'B' | 'C' | 'S' | 'L': SAP account category (v8500+). Values: A (Dialog), B (System), C (Communication), S (Service), L (Reference)
        - `RESOURCECUSTOMFIELD` object[]: Custom fields for the resource
          - `CUSTOMLABEL` string: Label for the custom field
          - `CUSTOMVALUE` string: Value for the custom field
