# Take a live template down

`POST /dashboards/v3/templates/admin/{slug}/unpublish`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://app.mammoth.io/api/v2`
- URL: `https://app.mammoth.io/api/v2/dashboards/v3/templates/admin/{slug}/unpublish`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in header `X-API-KEY` and API key in header `X-API-SECRET` and API key in header `X-WORKSPACE-ID`

Stops offering the template and leaves everything else intact: the draft canvas, the dashboard and the catalog row all survive, so republishing is one action rather than a re-import. Retiring must go through here — deleting the dashboard instead cascades its canvas and leaves a catalog row pointing at nothing.

## Path parameters

- `slug` string, required

## Response `200`

The affected template row, and what else the change did

- AdminRowResponse

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request syntax or unsupported method
- `403`: Request forbidden -- authorization will not help
