# Edit a curated template's filing

`PATCH /dashboards/v3/templates/admin/{slug}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://app.mammoth.io/api/v2`
- URL: `https://app.mammoth.io/api/v2/dashboards/v3/templates/admin/{slug}`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in header `X-API-KEY` and API key in header `X-API-SECRET` and API key in header `X-WORKSPACE-ID`

Retag, rename or reorder. Nothing re-renders: filing lives on the row, so this touches one line and no artifact — which is why tags are not carried inside the template file. Nothing here reaches the template's data either: a take opens on its stored snapshot, which no filing edit can move.

## Path parameters

- `slug` string, required

## Request body

- EditRowSpec
  - `params` EditRowParams, required
    - `title` string, nullable
    - `description` string, nullable
    - `use_case` string, nullable
    - `function` string, nullable
    - `industry` string[], nullable
    - `sort_order` integer, nullable
    - `base_version` string, nullable: Optimistic-concurrency token: the `filing_version` this edit was based on, as returned on every admin row read. 409 when the row's filing has moved since. Omit for an unconditional write — the same opt-in shape as the canvas save's `base_sequence`.

## Response `200`

The affected template row, and what else the change did

- AdminRowResponse
  - `template` object, required
  - `notes` string[]

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request syntax or unsupported method
- `403`: Request forbidden -- authorization will not help
