# One template's metadata + self-fit recipe

`GET /dashboards/v3/templates/{template_id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://app.mammoth.io/api/v2`
- URL: `https://app.mammoth.io/api/v2/dashboards/v3/templates/{template_id}`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in header `X-API-KEY` and API key in header `X-API-SECRET` and API key in header `X-WORKSPACE-ID`

The template's card metadata + its self-fit recipe (its roles mapped onto its OWN sample = the proposed bindings the detail modal shows) + a read-only ``explore`` reference. NOT the raw canvas: the FE previews inline via canvas-host and applies via /v3/templates/apply (which loads the canvas server-side from the source dashboard). ``explore`` (spec §4.5) is the template's OWN published dashboard opened read-only in dashboard-canvas-viewer via its url token — {dashboard_id, url} — or null when the source dashboard isn't published-and-public (the FE then hides the Explore button). No ephemeral bake, no ttl: the template's already-baked published dashboard IS the explore target. 404s an unknown or non-serving template.
