# A template's picture

`GET /dashboards/v3/templates/{slug}/thumbnail`

The image bytes for one template's card, straight from the row that owns them. 404s a template with no picture — an absent thumbnail is an ordinary state (nobody has uploaded one), the card falls back to its og-card, and the frontend treats the 404 as expected rather than as an error. Cached for five minutes and ETagged on the content hash; the ref the catalog emits carries the first eight characters of that hash, so replacing the image changes the URL and no stale copy can be served.
