# Create an empty v3 dashboard

`POST /dashboards/v3/blank`

## Request

  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in header `X-API-KEY` and API key in header `X-API-SECRET` and API key in header `X-WORKSPACE-ID`

Create an engine=v3 dashboard with an empty canvas bound to a dataview — no tiles, no model pass. Synchronous. Gated on the dashboards-v3 workspace flag plus dataview access.

## Query parameters

- `project_id` integer, nullable

## Request body

- CreateBlankSpec: Create an empty v3 dashboard bound to a dataview
  - `params` CreateBlankParams, required
    - `dataview_id` integer, required: Dataview the empty board is bound to
    - `style` string: Canvas style to seed — dashboard | presentation | document
    - `title` string: Optional title for the new board

## Response `201`

Empty dashboard created; its id and canvas sequence

- CreateBlankResponse
  - `id` integer, required: Id of the new (empty) dashboard
  - `sequence` integer, required: Sequence of the seeded empty canvas

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request syntax or unsupported method
- `403`: Request forbidden -- authorization will not help
