# Send a Message to a Task

`POST /v1/ai/agents/tasks/{taskId}/messages`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://eu1.api.matillion.com/dpc`

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Sends a follow-up message to a running or stopped task, resuming agent execution.

## Path parameters

- `taskId` string, uuid, required

## Request body

- SendMessageRequest (unresolved $ref)

## Response `202`

Message sent successfully

- SendMessageResponse
  - `taskId` string, uuid: The unique identifier of the task

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid request body
- `401`: Missing or invalid authentication token
- `403`: Insufficient permissions to send a message
- `404`: Task not found
- `502`: Upstream service error
- `504`: Upstream service timeout
