# Cloned Voices - Create a cloned voice

`POST /v1/cloned-voices`

## Request

Create a cloned voice from one or more audio samples, using the ElevenLabs
voice cloning feature. It behaves and is billed exactly like the web flow:
the same limit of 30 active voices, the same credit consumption and the
same lifecycle.

Audio samples are provided as **public https URLs** (1 to 5). Each URL is
downloaded server-side; the combined downloaded size must not exceed 200 MB.

Creation is asynchronous: the endpoint returns `202` with the new voice in
`pending` status. Poll `GET /v1/cloned-voices` until the voice reaches
`completed`.

**Enterprise only** — this endpoint is available exclusively for Enterprise API key plans.

## Request body

- CreateClonedVoiceRequest
  - `name` string, required: User-defined voice name
  - `description` string, nullable: Optional voice description
  - `remove_background_noise` boolean: Whether to remove background noise from the samples
  - `audios` string[], required: 1 to 5 audio samples, each a public https URL (max 2048 chars). The URLs are downloaded server-side (SSRF-protected, https only, no redirects); the combined downloaded size must not exceed 200 MB.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad Request - The server could not understand the request due to invalid syntax.
- `401`: Unauthorized - The client must authenticate itself to get the requested response.
- `403`: Forbidden - The client does not have permission to access the requested resource.
- `422`: Unprocessable Entity
- `429`: Too Many Requests - The client has sent too many requests in a given amount of time.
- `500`: Internal Server Error - The server has encountered a situation it doesn't know how to handle.
- `503`: Service Unavailable
