# Tag, note or unsubscribe a customer

`PATCH /customers/{id}`

## Request

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required

## Request body

- object
  - `addTags` string[]
  - `removeTags` string[]
  - `note` string: Replaces the note. Pass an empty string to clear it.
  - `emailMarketing` 'unsubscribed': Unsubscribe the customer from email marketing. The API can't subscribe anyone.

## Response `200`

Success envelope.

  - `hint` string: One-sentence orientation for agents.
  - `next_action` string: The literal next call an agent would chain.
