# Validate the definition of a stream application.

`POST /_fabric/{fabric}/_api/streamapps/validate`

## Request

Validate the definition of a stream application.

## Path parameters

- `fabric` string, required

## Request body

- StreamAppValidateRequest
  - `definition` string

## Response `200`

Successfully validated stream application.

- ExampleOperationSuccessRc200ValidateStreamWorker
  - `code` integer: HTTP response code.
  - `error` boolean: Flag if there is an error in response. *False* for this response.
  - `errorMessage` string: A message created for this error.

## Other responses

- `400`: Failed due to missing or malformed data. Verify that all parameters are complete.
- `422`: Failed to validate stream application because there is an error in the definition.
