# Update payment settings

`PUT /_api/billing/paymentsettings`

## Request

Update payment settings for given tenant.

 **Note**: This API is not applicable for system tenants `_mm` and `demo`.

- `tenant` string, string

## Request body

- PaymentUpdate
  - `payment_method_id` string, string: Payment Method ID

## Response `200`

Successfully updated payment settings.

- ResponseBillingCode200
  - `code` integer: HTTP response code.
  - `error` boolean: Flag if there is an error in response. *False* for this response.
  - `message` string: Message from server

## Other responses

- `400`: Failed due to missing or malformed data. Verify that all parameters are complete.
- `401`: Failed because you do not have administrator permissions.
