# What a Mac model is worth, by Apple's model name

`GET /api/v1/market`

## Request

  - API key in query parameter `api_key`

What a used Mac is worth, from the name Apple gives the model ("MacBook Pro (14-inch, 2021)", "MacBook Air (13-inch, M4, 2025)", "Mac mini (2023) with M2 Pro"). Built for apps that hold Apple's names rather than Macfax config keys. configurations lists every Apple Silicon config the name can mean, each with its sale estimate (sale.basis "direct" = verified sales, "calibrated" = the asking band scaled by a measured clearance ratio) and its live asking band. estimate is the headline: match "exact" carries one config's figure with a mid; match "range" spans the candidates low to high with mid null, because Apple's name leaves the chip open and a mid would blend configs. estimate.basis is "sale", "asking", or "mixed". Apple Silicon Macs only. Rate limits: 30/min and 1000/day per anonymous IP; 300/min and 10000/day with a free key.

## Query parameters

- `model` string, required

## Response `200`

Market value: label, match (exact|range), estimate {low, mid|null, high, basis}, configurations [{config, label, model_identifiers, sale, asking, live_listings, html_url}], live_listings, html_url, currency. meta.attribution carries the citation line.

## Other responses

- `400`: Missing or overlong model name.
- `404`: No Apple Silicon Mac configuration matches the name.
- `429`: Rate limited.
