# How big a grid search would be, before running it

`POST /api/v1/searches/estimate`

## Request

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Free. Same body as POST /api/v1/searches. Returns the number of grid points, how many are skipped because your account already covers them, and a rough range of provider calls. You are billed one lead per NEW listing found, so the cost depends on how many businesses exist, which nobody can know before looking.

- `400`: Unknown areas (unknown[] with suggestions) or ambiguous names (ambiguous[] with candidates and ids)
