# Find the areas a search accepts

`GET /api/v1/areas`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://lyreleads.com`
- URL: `https://lyreleads.com/api/v1/areas`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Free. Case-insensitive name search within one country, most populous first. Call without country to get the list of countries. Every area carries an id: send it in areas[] when a name is shared by more than one place, because a search will not guess which one you meant.

- `country` string, required
- `q` string
- `limit` integer

## Response `200`

areas[] of {id, name, state, population, area_km2}

## Other responses

- `400`: country missing (countries[] returned)
