# Verify citation provenance

`POST /api/locus_verify_citation`

## Request

Official-host and normalized URL checks of a citation against Locus source cards, for buyer, owner and lender agents. Returns card provenance, status, and endpoint when the URL matches. Use before trusting a cited public-record source. Provenance only: it does not re-fetch the record or validate the fact. Direct flat-body route for this one free resource; no API key, payment, or catalog wrapper. Return only the cited bounded evidence described here; this route never produces a paid brief or full report.

## Request body

  - `sourceUrl` string, required: Required citation source or dataset URL to match against official-source cards.
  - `recordId` string: Optional citation record id; echoed back only for context.
  - `jurisdiction` string: Optional jurisdiction id to narrow the source-card search, e.g. us-nc-raleigh.

Free cited evidence response.
